It’s Monday, so if you’re reading this that probably means that you’re doing everything you can to procrastinate your enormous to-do list with tantalizing Internet news. Well, luckily for you (and unluckily for your employers), I’m going to nourish your inner slacker with a few entertaining aquarium videos.

And of course, every good feature film deserves a dramatic movie trailer. Get ready for “Reef: A True Story, Lol.”

As you may have guessed, that isn’t a real movie trailer. A hardcore aquascaping fan used a camera, a bit of editing software, and his absolutely gorgeous saltwater aquarium to create this tongue-in-cheek movie trailer. The trailer may be faux, but that doesn’t mean that the messages are fake, too. I suspect the creator was being honest with, “The evolution of a dream… A humble dream turned addiction.” It’s obvious that this aquascaper is proud (and rightfully so) of his stunning aquascape.

Alright, now are you ready for something with a bit more meat? Grab the popcorn — this is a 45 minute amateur documentary about freshwater aquarium fish splashing around in their natural habitats. Ever wonder what the home of your discus fish used to look like before you introduced them to your freshwater aquascape? Watch to find out.

Yeah, I know that the quality isn’t amazing and the sound is a little bit staticky, but the important thing to take away from this video is the passion. The creator may not have access to fancy, million-dollar production equipment, but it’s clear that this guy loves his fish.

Documentaries aren’t your thing? Let’s try something a little bit more… dramatic.

Oh man, that was tense. If that shark had been more aggressive, this inspirational commercial would’ve ended like a gore-filled horror flick — and we all know what happens to the blonde in those movies. You’ve really got to hand it to that diver. I’ve seen some people go to great lengths to capture exciting moments on camera, but this is dancing with the devil.

Speaking of having nerves of steel, we have a slightly more humorous video for those who prefer comedies. This brazen fellow decided to take a dive into a hotel aquarium.

What’s the point of sharing these videos? Well, it’s pretty simple: I’m hoping that at least one will make you crack a smile. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the complicated minutiae of aquascaping. At the end of the day it’s important to remember what aquariums are all about: fun, beauty, and relaxation.
